Don’t wait for permission to work hard, don’t wait for somebody to give you an internship, or a job. For a long time, I didn’t know who or what was recognising what I was doing and my friends would be like, ‘You have a really unhealthy work-life relationship.’ But I’m so glad I worked that hard, it was not for nothing and it absolutely paid off. What advice would you offer someone looking for a career in storytelling? People often ask me, ‘How do I start?’ and I’m like, ‘Don’t wait for permission to start!’ If you’re working really hard and you’re working really smart then it won’t go unrecognised.
